  • 24 oz (680g) cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (180g) sour cream (Greek yogurt)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate, melted & somewhat cooled
  • 2 tbsp (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder

Steps to Prepare a Chocolate Cheesecake:

The steps that you have to follow to prepare a delicious chocolate cheesecake at home are:

1. Preparation of the Batter:

For preparing your batter, you have to preheat your oven at 325°F (160°C). Then, apply some grease on a 9 inch springfoam pan and line the pan’s bottom with a parchment paper.

Then, in the food processor of Cuisinart, you have to add all-purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Afterwards, pulse the processor 2 or 3 times to mix up these items.

In the next sub-step, you have to add cold butter cubes inside the processor and pulse the appliance until the mixture resembles rough sand.

Also, add the egg yolk and vanilla inside the mixture. Afterwards, process the mixture for 20-30 seconds to create a thick mixture.

Now is the time to add this mixture inside the pan. Add the thick mixture in the pan and use a spatula to evenly spread it inside the pan.

So bake the added mixture for 10-12 minutes and let it cool somewhat while preparing the cake’s filling.

2. Making of the Cheesecake Filling:

For preparing the cheesecake filling, melt the chocolate in a microwave oven and let it cool somewhat.

Then, clean your Cuisinart food processor. In the cleaned processor, mix cream cheese and sugar for one minute until the mixture becomes smooth. Also, scrape the sides of the mixture as needed.

Afterwards, add sour cream, eggs, and vanilla in the processor. Then, process or blend the new ingredients with the old ones. But don’t overmix.

In the last sub-step, pour the melted chocolate and cocoa powder into the food processor. And pulse the entire material until all the ingredients are completely blended.

3. Baking of the Cheesecake:

Now pour the filling over the pre-baked crust and smooth its top with a spatula.

And bake the material at 325°F (160°C) for 45-50 mins. Or bake it until the edges of the material are set, and the cake’s centre is somewhat jiggly.

Afterwards, turn off the oven. Open the oven door and let the cheesecake cool for one hour to avoid cracking.

In the last sub-step, put the cake inside the fridge to let it cool for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before slicing it up.

Plus, you can add the following food items as optional toppings for your cheesecake:

  • Chocolate ganache
  • Whipped cream & chocolate shavings
  • Fresh berries
